Jumping into Business
This one-day workshop designed for younger teenagers, gives an exciting opportunity to explore the idea of owning a business. Students will enjoy hands-on activities that raise awareness of social responsibility in business and engage their creative thinking. They will be inspired to identify a money-making opportunity and explore their own skills, talents and interests which could be used to start up a business. This workshop challenges young people to be enterprising problem solvers who believe their good ideas and entrepreneurial attitudes bring positive change to the world in which they live.
Objectives: At the end of the course each student will:
- Discuss the importance of social responsibility in business
- Begin to recognise their own skills and talents which could be used in business
- Improve creativity and enterprising thinking
- Practice working in teams to solve business challenges
- Develop basic marketing ideas to sell products they create
- Be inspired to consider starting up and running their own business as a career
Jumping into Money
This one-day workshop for younger teenagers introduces them to the basic concepts of wisely managing money. Students gain a fast-paced insight into how the world around us, especially advertising, shapes our thinking about money. The workshop features exciting small group activities allowing students to explore the importance of smart money making decisions even at a young age. Students will go home understanding how their financial decisions can have long term effects as well as the inspiration to handle money responsibility.

- Think about why money is so important in today's society
- Begin to appreciate the benefits of money management
- Consider the difference between needing something and simply wanting it
- Discuss the affect of advertising on financial decision making
- Evaluate their ability to make the right decisions with money
